Position Overview
The Landscape Director of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the maintenance division, ensuring exceptional service delivery, strong client relationships, and efficient crew management. This role manages one maintenance crew, coordinates scheduling and site quality, and serves as the primary point of contact for residential clients. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and experienced in horticulture and property maintenance best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Division Leadership & Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the residential maintenance division, ensuring all services are completed efficiently, accurately, and to company standards.
- Develop seasonal maintenance plans, service schedules, and route efficiencies for the crew.
- Monitor job progress and quality across all assigned properties through regular site visits.
Crew Management
- Supervise and support one maintenance crew, including onboarding, training, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Assign daily tasks, review timecards, manage labor hours, and ensure proper use of equipment and materials.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Client Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for residential maintenance clients.
- Conduct regular property walkthroughs with clients to review service quality, discuss site needs, and address questions or concerns.
- Proactively identify enhancement opportunities and coordinate proposals with clients and internal teams.
- Provide timely follow-up, updates, and resolution to all client inquiries.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain high service standards through consistent site inspections, crew feedback, and corrective action when necessary.
- Monitor plant health, turf conditions, and landscape issues, making recommendations for improvements or treatments.
Scheduling & Administration
- Coordinate weekly schedules, material needs, and service routes for the maintenance crew.
- Track labor, productivity, and job costs to support accurate billing and reporting.
- Complete necessary documentation, including service logs, client communication records, and internal reports.
Enhancements & Add-On Services
- Identify and scope enhancement projects such as seasonal color, pruning, mulch, plant replacements, and small landscape upgrades.
- Work with the enhancement or production team to prepare pricing, proposals, and execution timelines.
Equipment & Inventory Management
- Ensure the maintenance crew has the proper tools, equipment, and materials for each job.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and report repair needs or replacement recommendations.
Winter Operations (If Applicable)
- Assist with snow and ice management activities, including client communication, crew coordination, and service documentation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
