What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Design Sales Professional position at McFarlin Stanford?
We are seeking an experienced Landscape Design Sales Professional to join our team. This role requires strong knowledge and proven success in selling both softscapes (planting, lawns, gardens) and hardscapes (patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor living spaces).
Our company core software Aspire Software gives you the ability to see live data at any point. This position will work closely with production to ensure ticket management and job profitability reflects company visions.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new business in both residential and commercial markets for Landscape Construction.
- Focus on new client acquisition (75% Hunting) and new calls into our office (25%).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, property managers, developers.
- Prepares preliminary design, working drawings, specifications, and cost estimates Provide unique, high quality designs that meet or exceed client’s needs.
- Generate fair, thorough and accurate design proposals with focus on budgets.
- Communicate the design and installation processes to clients to help ensure realistic expectations, help them make better decisions and to recognize the importance the design expertise
- Introduce clients to other CLI services and recommend services/products that help ensure the vision of the design and that the client’s evolving needs are met.
- Introduce maintenance and enhancements staff to clients as appropriate.
- Follow up with clients before, during and after installation takes place
- Produce realistic estimates, create and oversee adherence to budgets to bring jobs in at desired profit rates.
- Follow up with clients to complete or negotiate punch lists to bolster collection timing.
- Prospect and develop business from networking and referrals from current clients.
- Work with accounting department to submit billing according to intervals set out in contracts.
Project Management Duties
- Communicate design intent to project manager before beginning projects, explaining special details or nuances of the installation to maximize crew’s productivity.
- Revise plans and estimates according to project changes and communicate alterations to clients, crews and subcontractors.
- Inspect projects as they progress to determine regulation and specification compliance, and make recommendations to existing specifications and plans.
- Collaborate with contractors, construction supervisors and related disciplines to oversee work assignments and coordinate work.
- Convey special requirements to operations staff to schedule crews effectively and efficiently and ensure client satisfaction and/or adherence to contracts.

- HubSpot CRM knowledge
- Exceptional organization skills and flawless follow through.

- Knowledge of proper set up and installation practices
- Knowledge in techniques for measuring, calculating material i.e. soils, stone.
- Great communication and listening skills.
