McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for an Editing Clerk for its Ames Business Services office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
Responsible for reviewing and editing charges entered into the practice management system utilizing current ICD-10 and CPT guidelines and accessing chart documentation to ensure accuracy prior to claims processed for billing, insurance filing and revenue reporting. Creates batches to manually input data from charge documents into the practice management system to the proper patient’s account or special billing account, verifies clinic waiver and ABN forms for accurate billing. Responds to inquiries from clinical and non-clinical sources via multiple communication options, i.e., practice management system in-basket messaging, email, phone, etc.
Education
- High School Diploma, GED or HiSET
- Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
Days: Monday - Friday.
Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Experience
- Minimum of one-year medical billing experience
Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire.
