Motor Repair & Reconditioning
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble AC/DC electric motors and accessories to Romanoff's stringent quality standards.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to safely position parts throughout the repair process.
- Maintain all shop tools and equipment in proper working order; keep your workspace clean and organized to standard.
- Perform routine motor testing including: megging, surge/hipot testing, micrometer fits, single-phase rotor tests, growler tests, drop tests, bar-to-bar tests, and dynamic balancing.
- Work in full accordance with all safety guidelines
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time for every order.
What We're Looking For
Must Have
- Strong mechanical aptitude; you understand how things work and can figure out how to fix them.
- Ability to work hands-on in the shop, lifting, moving, and working with heavy equipment.
- Basic math skills and the ability to interpret measurements accurately.
- Willingness to learn and grow, we'll teach you the rest.
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational certification preferred.
- Prior experience working with electric motors, controls, or electrical systems, a strong head start.
- Background in a related mechanical or industrial trade (machinist, maintenance technician, electrician, etc.).
- Forklift or overhead crane experience.
