What are the responsibilities and job description for the MIddle School Language Arts Teacher position at McDonogh School?
McDonogh School is searching for a dynamic middle school grade language arts teacher who can ignite a love of reading and language arts to support independent learning. The teacher will work with our Middle School, grades 5 -8
Compensation will be offered in the range of $55,000- $75,000. Individual offers will be specific, and based on education, experience, and benchmarking parameters.
Recommended Employment Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have experience working to integrate Social Studies/Humanities activities into a traditional Language Arts program and/or experience integrating Language Arts into an interdisciplinary curriculum. Ideally, will have experience working with a group of students in an advisory program. Must have significant experience teaching Language Arts, preferably to middle school age students.
Qualifications:Must possess a Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, or Humanities, or a teaching degree with an emphasis in Language Arts, Reading, or English.

Working Conditions
Bending. Evening and weekend hours may be required from time to time. Lifting and carrying of equipment is not typical, but may be required on rare occasions. Lifting up to 25 pounds. Significant computer use, including extensive close use of a computer monitor. Sitting. Standing. Walking around campus.
Salary : $55,000 - $75,000
