McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a Service Manager.
The Service Manager is responsible for maintaining a schedule of shop work, assigning personnel to specific work orders, giving work direction to Service Technicians in the repair of equipment, maintaining a schedule of field service work to be done while scheduling personnel for such, and maintaining a list of trucking to be done on pick-up and delivery of equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):
- Supervising all Service Department personnel and activities
- Oversee and manage all day to day operations of the service department.
- Monitors pick-up and deliveries of equipment, customer satisfaction, provides scheduled training needs.
- Reports shop goals, hiring suitable candidates, develop service marketing programs.
- Financial acumen with basic understanding of accounting
- Regularly interface with sales, parts, and other management personnel in service of branch goals
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Maintain regular on-site attendance.
Education, Skills & Knowledge Preferred:
- 5 plus years in heavy duty construction and forestry equipment preferred
- Must have high school diploma/equivalent, 4-year degree preferred
- Must have supervisory experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and problem solver
- Comfortable making cold calls, computer skills, organizational and communication skills
