McCormick Taylor is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineer to join our Fort Myers, FL or Tampa, FL location. Given our corporate hybrid work policy and remote work flexibility, we would entertain candidates from a variety of locations within Florida with relationships focused in the Southwest Florida region and FDOT District 1 and 7. Candidates should have a detailed understanding of transportation engineering projects, planning, analysis and design for Southwest FL Counties, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Florida Turnpike Enterprise.

- Work under the supervision of project managers to develop design solutions on a variety of roadway, bridge, and other transportation projects
- Geometric design and development of plans, specifications, and estimates
- Knowledge of roadway design elements, standards, and constructability methods
- Work independently on engineering assignments
- Direct entry-level staff and technicians
- Assist with development of design and construction schedules
- Work effectively with clients, including Federal, State, and local agencies
- Develop project management and budgeting skills, as applicable
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
- A FL Professional Engineer license highly preferred, EIT required
- 6-10 years of experience in a similar position
- Proficient in MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Highway/roadway/traffic design experience with direct experience/relationships with FDOT and FTE including design criteria, standards and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well autonomously and with limited supervision
- Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to internal staff and clients
