McCormick Barstow, a nationwide law firm, is seeking an attorney to join our Modesto office. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative and dynamic team, working alongside experienced attorneys and gaining invaluable courtroom exposure. In this role, you will:
- Provide legal counsel to existing clients.
- Conduct legal research and draft/review documents, motions, etc.
- Make court appearances.
- Take and defend deposition.
- Help manage client files and ensure they’re up-to-date.
- Assist with discovery in litigation and support trial preparations.
- Perform due diligence on contracts, agreements, and other legal matters.
- Attend client meetings, hearings, and other legal proceedings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and Admission to the California State Bar required .
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented with great organizational skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with legal software tools for research and document management.
- 2-5 years of experience.
