Position Summary
· The Dealership Accountant I performs entry-level accounting functions supporting the dealership's financial operations. This position is responsible for accurate transaction processing, account reconciliations, and administrative accounting functions while developing knowledge of dealership accounting practices and dealership management systems (DMS).
· Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
· Post daily accounting transactions to the general ledger.
· Reconcile cash, bank, and clearing accounts.
· Process vehicle deal paperwork for accounting accuracy.
· Submit warranty, service contract, and aftermarket product remittances.
· Maintain schedules for inventory, receivables, and payables.
· Assist with month-end closing procedures.
· Process title and registration accounting transactions.
· Review accounting documents for completeness and accuracy.
· Maintain accounting files and records.
· Assist with audit requests and documentation.
· Support Controller and Accounting Manager with special projects.
Qualifications:Education
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
· Experience
· 0–2 years accounting experience.
· Automotive dealership experience, specifically DMV required.
· Skills
· Basic accounting knowledge.
· Understanding of debits and credits.
· Microsoft Excel proficiency.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Typical Washington Compensation
· $22–$30 per hour
· Approximately $45,000–$62,000 annually
· Non-Exempt
