During tax season, we handle a high volume of individual and small business returns. We’re looking for a skilled Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our team and support return processing. This role is ideal for detail-oriented tax professionals who enjoy preparing accurate returns in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare individual and small business tax returns (1040, Schedule C, etc.) from client-provided documents
- Review documentation for completeness and follow up with clients as needed by phone or email
- Ensure compliance with current IRS and Oregon state tax laws
- Accurately enter data into tax preparation software
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately
- Collaborate with the tax team to meet internal deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience preparing individual tax returns (minimum 2 season preferred)
- Enrolled Agent Preferred. (Higher pay rate available)
- PTIN required or ability to obtain
- Strong understanding of IRS tax code and Oregon state tax requirements
- Experience using Drake tax software preferred
- Experience with Atom software is a plus
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent phone and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple returns efficiently
