We are currently seeking a dedicated Tax Preparer for our small Tax and Accounting office located in Hazel Dell, serving small businesses and individual clients throughout Clark County, WA. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Position Overview:
- This role is designed to be a full-time, year-round position.
- Work hours are Monday to Friday. With Saturday hours during tax season.
- During the tax season (January to April), we offer a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with the potential for overtime.
- From April to December, hours will range from 32 to 40 per week, depending on business needs. A qualified candidate who can deliver excellent bookkeeping and/or payroll services will be eligible for up to 40 hours.
Candidate Requirements:
· Must have a strong desire to work with and assist multiple small business and individual clients.
· Proven tax preparation skills are essential.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Requirements for Tax Preparer Position:
Part 1: Bookkeeper Experience and/or Payroll Experience
Preferred Skills:
· Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
- Must be able to understand and interpret both Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports.
- General Ledger knowledge is crucial and will be assessed during the pre-employment testing phase.
Additional Skills
- Familiarity with WA Department of Revenue Business & Occupation Reporting is beneficial but not required.
- Experience in handling payroll is advantageous but not a prerequisite.
Tax Preparer Experience
Experience Requirements:
- At least three years of experience as a paid Income Tax Preparer.
- Experience in tax preparation for individuals, especially those with small businesses and/or rental properties, is required.
- Knowledge in the preparation of tax returns for corporations and partnerships is highly desired.
Software Proficiency:
- Familiarity with tax preparation software such as Drake and/or ATOM is preferred.
