The Opportunity: Empowering the Next Generation of Doers
In our high schools, Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) is the bridge between the classroom and the real world. We are looking for a dynamic, visionary educator who understands that skills like culinary arts, human development, and financial literacy are the foundations of a successful life. You aren't just teaching "home economics"—you are preparing students for high-demand careers and independent living.
As part of the Ferguson-Florissant "New Chapter," you will lead a classroom that is hands-on, hearts-on, and future-focused. Whether your students are designing a sustainable interior or mastering professional culinary techniques, you are the guide who helps them turn passion into a profession. If you’re ready to inspire the leaders and creators of tomorrow, your next chapter starts here.
Role Summary
As a High School FACS Teacher, you will lead a comprehensive program designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse global society. You will facilitate a rigorous, hands-on environment that covers various pathways—such as Nutrition and Wellness, Culinary Arts, Child Development, or Fashion/Interior Design. Working collaboratively with your department and community partners, you will create an inclusive learning experience that prepares students for both college and immediate career success.
