We are seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is critical to our daily operations, ensuring that our fleet of HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical service trucks—including cars, light-duty vans and pick-up trucks—is safe, reliable, and always ready for the field. You will be responsible for full-cycle maintenance, from routine oil changes to engine and hydraulic system repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections to minimize downtime and extend vehicle longevity.
- Diagnostics & Repair: Use advanced diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Specialized Fleet Service: Maintain and repair specialized equipment used in HVAC and plumbing, including hydraulic pumps, compressors, and specialized vehicle climate control systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Perform DOT inspections and ensure all vehicles comply with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed service histories and maintenance logs for each unit in the fleet, including tracking parts inventory and warranties.
- Field Service: Provide occasional roadside assistance or emergency field repairs for disabled vehicles.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or an associate degree in automotive/diesel technology is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance or commercial truck repair.
- Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record (CDL helpful).
- ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) is preferred not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with diagnostic scanners, welding/fabrication equipment, and basic computer software for maintenance tracking.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand or kneel for extended periods in various weather conditions.
