Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques to ensure the safe and effective preparation and dispensing of medications. The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff to enhance patient service and outcomes.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with healthcare professionals.
- Prepare IV infusions and other sterile products following aseptic techniques.
- Ensure proper labeling of medications and maintain accurate records of prescriptions.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide critical care support as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on enhancing patient experience.
- Familiarity with IV infusion processes and medication administration techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare providers.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is essential.
- Knowledge of critical care practices is a plus.
