Position Summary

McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled Pile Driver Welders for an exciting Marine project in Galveston In this role, you will properly and safely install pipe, concrete, wood, or sheet piles, and perform welding activities. The ideal candidate has 7 year of combine experience as pile driver and welder in large marine construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist leadman/foreman in the installation of various pile types
• Complete/conduct Task Hazard Analysis (THA) that adequately identifies and addresses all safety hazards associated with a task
• Perform work independently with minimum supervision
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Assist with lay-out of pile driving/welding operations
• Perform cutting torch and welding activities (combo/structural—3G, 4G, etc.)
• Perform rigging and signalman activities when needed
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain pile driving equipment
• Complete pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Prior experience with self-perform pile driving operations in marine construction projects
• Knowledgeable in multiple pile installation techniques, hammer type, templates, pile driving equipment, and types/sizes of cranes
• Proficient welding and cutting operations
• Must pass welding test in accordance with project needs
• Must be comfortable working on (barges) or near water
• Understands construction and marine terminology
• Identify common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, measuring tape, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, cutting torch, grinders, etc.)
• Proven commitment to Safety
• Work in an organized manner
• Able to work night shifts when needed
• Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
• Minimum age 18
