Responsibilities
- Assist leadman/foreman in the installation of various pile types
- Complete/conduct Task Hazard Analysis (THA) that adequately identifies and addresses all safety hazards associated with a task
- Perform work independently with minimum supervision
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Assist with lay-out of pile driving/welding operations
- Perform cutting torch and welding activities (combo/structural—3G, 4G, etc.)
- Perform rigging and signalman activities when needed
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain pile driving equipment
- Complete pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Prior experience with self-perform pile driving operations in marine construction projects
- Knowledgeable in multiple pile installation techniques, hammer type, templates, pile driving equipment, and types/sizes of cranes
- Proficient welding and cutting operations
- Must pass welding test in accordance with project needs
- Must be comfortable working on (barges) or near water
- Understands construction and marine terminology
- Identify common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, measuring tape, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, cutting torch, grinders, etc.)
- Proven commitment to Safety
- Work in an organized manner
- Able to work night shifts when needed
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Minimum age 18
