Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, tracks, diesel engines and transmissions for a variety of construction equipment and crane types
- Maintain a safe shop work environment
- Effectively communicate equipment issues with supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction
- Operate/maneuver heavy equipment on site in a safe and effective manner
- Check daily to ensure equipment functions properly and in a safe manner
- Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.
- Accurately order needed parts from vendors when necessary
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience with a large construction company as a heavy equipment mechanic
- Thorough knowledge of equipment and safety processes used in commercial, civil and/or marine construction
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance, storage, schematics, and diagrams
- Necessary tools to perform the work assigned
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to weld and fabricate preferred
- Ability to complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Exhibit strong work ethic, teamwork, customer service, verbal, and written skills
- Age 18
- Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
- TWIC credentials and CDL preferred
