We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Parts Counter Sales Representative. The role will be responsible for the efficient handling and control of customers’ needs for construction supplies, parts, and equipment including proper inventory, record keeping, delivery, reporting, and rentals as well as other duties as specified by the Parts Manager. Responsibilities:
- Respond to all incoming counter and phone sales and product inquiries, emphasizing salable features, quoting prices, and preparing sales and rental orders; system generate sales orders as received and expedite for delivery, pick up, or will call; handle cash transactions; handle deposits on daily cash transactions, maintain records, literature, brochures, lists, catalogs, bin tickets, and price sheets as appropriate for your prompt reference.
- Qualify sales leads and coordinate with the appropriate sales department for follow up; participate in field calls with outside sales personnel to ensure customer satisfaction, perform telemarketing; assist in stocking showroom as well as maintain general appearance of showroom and counter/office area; review open order status monthly; occasional dispatch, warehouse and driver responsibilities; analyze stock, estimates usage and prepare order forms; record and place in inventory all incoming supplies, parts, units, components, and assemblies; assists customers solving problems; Identify correct part numbers, completes order forms; recommend related items at the point of sale.
- Maintain safety and security to company policy and standards; report deficiencies; utilize every opportunity to increase knowledge through attendance at meetings, seminars, and schools; handle customer complaints in a personal manner, reports any condition which may need further company attention; prioritize customer needs through dispatch of deliveries, maintain commitments to customers regarding timely deliveries; advise customers of known delays; keep current all computer systems; process return goods timely; issue customer credit, and request vendor returns goods authorization (RGA) paperwork; provide assistance at other locations when needed; may be required to be a key holder for a specific location.
- Education: One year of college or technical school, or two years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial statements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedures manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions percentages, area, circumference and volume; apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.
- Physical Requirements: Lift and/or move 25lbs; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs utilizing safe methods with equipment or assistance; occasionally subject to outside weather conditions or elements; noise levels are standard business environment.
