About The Role.
McCain Foods is seeking a Sanitation Laborer to join our Manufacturing team at the Burley, Idaho facility. This position works a 12-hour day or night shift and plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment. Under limited supervision, the Sanitation Laborer performs a variety of cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the plant, utilizing specialized equipment and cleaning chemicals to support food safety, product quality, and operational excellence.

McCain Foods is seeking a Sanitation Laborer to join our Manufacturing team at the Burley, Idaho facility. This position works a 12-hour day or night shift and plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment. Under limited supervision, the Sanitation Laborer performs a variety of cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the plant, utilizing specialized equipment and cleaning chemicals to support food safety, product quality, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing.
- Perform deep cleaning and sanitation of production equipment in accordance with established Sanitation SOPs.
- Clean and sanitize production, packaging, and other assigned plant areas.
- Flush, scrub, sanitize, and maintain ceilings, walls, floors, overhead pipes, and other facility surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize mats, carts, buckets, and other production support equipment on a daily basis.
- Measure, mix, and prepare chemical cleaning agents according to specifications and safety procedures.
- Refill, store, and distribute chemical cleaning supplies as needed.
- Support inventory control processes and procedures within the sanitation department.
- Operate high-pressure cleaning equipment and safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation solutions.
- Follow all safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and safe work practices.
- Support Production and Quality teams by ensuring sanitation standards are consistently maintained.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and sanitation documentation.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with employees and supervisors.
- Demonstrated computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong commitment to food safety, sanitation, quality, and workplace safety standards.
- Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals, sanitation equipment, and high-pressure cleaning systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a 12-hour day or night shift schedule.
