What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician position at McCain Family Eyecare?
We are a local family-owned business seeking to fill this full-time position. Experience preferred. We are looking to fill this position with someone interested in a long-term position/employment.
The candidate must be reliable, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and willing to learn with a friendly demeanor and excellent phone presence.
We are looking for someone who can be dedicated to ensuring the best possible experience for every patient. Each patient is unique and should feel appreciated. Our opticians help patients to be properly fit with new contact lenses and eyeglasses. The individual will help patients to select the perfect eyeglass frame in both fit and style. We want them to leave our office seeing and looking their best! They also must instruct patients on the use and care of their glasses.
Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Warmly greeting incoming patients.
- Engaging with patients and recommending products and services that meet their lifestyle and eye care needs.
- Ensuring high quality/timely product manufacturing/fabrication.
- Conducting contact lens insertion and removal training.
- Ordering various types of contact lenses.
- Maintaining and cleaning optical, equipment, doctor’s lanes, and office.
- Administrative duties including answering telephones, scheduling patient appointments per doctor preferences and transcribing messages for return calls and faxes.
- Helping to maintain proper levels of office supplies.
