Join our compassionate team as a Patient Care Support professional, where you will play an essential role in providing dignified and respectful care for those entrusted to us. Working alongside our licensed funeral directors, crematory operators, and care center staff, you will assist with the transfer, preparation, and care of decedents while supporting the daily operations of our funeral care center.

Duties

  • Assist with the respectful transfer and transportation of decedents from hospitals, nursing facilities, residences, medical examiner's offices, and other locations.
  • Support all aspects of cremation operations under the supervision of licensed funeral professionals and certified crematory operators.
  • Assist with the preparation, identification, and care of decedents while maintaining strict chain-of-custody procedures.
  • Help prepare decedents for visitation, identification, cremation, or burial services as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout the funeral care center, preparation areas, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Assist with receiving, documenting, and releasing personal effects in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of company vehicles, equipment, and care center facilities.
  • Support funeral directors with day-to-day operations, including service preparation, vehicle staging, and logistical needs.
  • Safely lift, move, and transport decedents and equipment using proper lifting techniques and company safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, case records, and identification procedures while adhering to all company policies and state regulations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and compassionate care in every interaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
  • Comfortable working in a funeral care center environment and around deceased individuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and identification protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with coworkers, funeral directors, healthcare professionals, and families.
  • Flexibility to work an on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous experience in funeral service, healthcare, patient transport, EMS, or related fields is preferred but not required. We provide comprehensive training for the right candidate.
