Position Overview: As a Desktop Technician and play a pivotal role in maintaining our technological backbone. You’ll be responsible for providing Tier-1 and Tier-2 technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring seamless operations of our PCs, software, servers, storage, and networks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, recommending enhancements, and implementing configuration changes to optimize our systems. Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Technical Support: Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 technical support for SMTC's PCs, software, servers, storage, and networks. You’ll be the go-to expert for resolving complex issues efficiently.
- Strategic Systems Enhancement: Review, evaluate, and recommend changes or enhancements to our technology landscape, ensuring it aligns with evolving requirements.
- Configuration Management: Make configuration changes to PCs, servers, and networks, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
- Proactive Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot field problems in SMTC's local office and data center environments, applying your expertise to resolve issues swiftly.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate as an integral member of project teams, contributing technical insights and support to drive successful outcomes.
- Documentation and Maintenance: Develop and maintain configuration management guides, ensuring comprehensive and accurate system documentation.
- Flexibility and Commitment: Demonstrate dedication by being available for weekends, after-hours, and holiday work, ensuring uninterrupted system performance when needed.
Education and Experience for the Desktop Technician:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D with at least two years of IT-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Windows environments, LAN/WAN, networking protocols, Microsoft Internet Information Server, and Microsoft Office products is essential.
- Problem-Solving Prowess: Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and creatively solve complex technical problems. Your logical solutions will be key to our success.
- Strong Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are crucial for collaborating effectively with internal teams and external customers.
- Confidentiality and Ethics: Uphold the highest level of confidentiality regarding corporate information, maintaining trust and integrity.
- Certifications and Experience: CompTIA (A , Network , Server , and Security ) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certifications are advantageous. Experience in IT-related roles will be highly valued.
