What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embedded Peer Tutor (Part-time Student Employee) position at mbcc-mass?
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Attend all class meetings (including labs) for the course/section you are supporting;
Plan and facilitate two one-hour study sessions per week based the availability and needs of students enrolled in the course;
Attend Embedded Peer Tutor trainings;
Lead individual appointments;
Inform direct supervisors of session meeting times and locations;
Track student attendance for study sessions;
Assist students in developing time management, communication, and study skills to promote academic success within the course;
Maintain consistent communication with your direct supervisors;
Assist students in navigating College systems and understanding course expectations;
Help students in locating and submitting assignments;
Provide support to students through WebEx, Zoom, email, or on-campus meetings;
Be aware of and advocate for the other resources and services provided at MassBay Community College;
Model appropriate academic attitudes and behaviors to staff, faculty, and students;
Complete other tasks as assigned.
