Walmart Category Advisor

Position Summary:

Seeking a Category Advisor for Walmart in Bentonville, AR. This position is the key contact with the Wal-Mart Buyer, Wal-Mart Modular Planning team, as well as internal departments (sales, marketing, forecasting, brand analysis, and customer marketing). The primary focus of this position is to be responsible for building in-aisle strategies and planograms to improve category performance at Walmart. This role will be hybrid, 2-3 days a week on site in Mayzon’s Bentonville office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead, develop and maintain category management initiatives for key categories at Wal-Mart

· Identify and track current and future sales trends and express as market share results relative to the appropriate portion of the marketplace.

· Identify and implement sales and customer analysis to help influence decision making in the modular process

· Analyze planograms to optimize assortment based on productivity, pricing, promotions, product, or placement utilizing third-party data sources, such as Yipitdata or the accounts own POS systems

· Build, develop and maintain planograms for the buyers that maximize sales and productivity and take advantage of business strategies for account.

· Complete a quarterly and full season analysis of Spring and Fall Planogram sets and Industry trends; make recommendations to Wal-Mart buyers to improve sales and space to sales performance.

· Build competitive awareness of items in the market, both online and in stores through in store visits and use of market data platforms

· Become trusted partner and expert for the buyer and function as advisor on key categories to create and implement strategic recommendations on improvements in selling strategies for the account.

· Ad hoc reports and requests to support the team

· Maintain the confidentiality of Wal-Mart category and competitive data.

Requirements:

· Experience with Wal-Mart and their Scintilla systems required. Charter version of Scintilla preferred.

· Blue Yonder/JDA/Space Planning Software preferred.

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

· CPG (Consumer Product Goods) experience necessary.

· Experience in sales, analytics and planning, category management, or brand management

· Demonstrated ability in analyzing data, formulating recommendations, and developing presentations.

· Must have Quantitative and Qualitative interpretation abilities

· Proficient use of MS Office is required.

· Strong computer skills related to database management are required.

· Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentation skills), manage time effectively, build relationships across disciplines, and independently analyze data and use judgement to extract key information and develop recommendations

· Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is essential, with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
