What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tools Specialist position at Mayzon?
Mayzon is seeking a Tools Specialist to support the preventive maintenance, cleaning, repair, and inspection of injection molds, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and related production equipment within our Tool & Die department.
This is a hands-on position focused on keeping tooling properly maintained, identifying wear or damage before it becomes a production issue, and supporting the Tool & Die and Production teams as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on molds, tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Inspect tooling for wear, defects, or damage and document findings.
- Clean tooling using approved methods, including the Cold Jet cleaning system when applicable.
- Set up and operate Bridgeport mills, lathes, and surface grinders as needed.
- Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Assist with mold repairs and support Production with equipment adjustments and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Tool & Die work area.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools, machinery, or industrial equipment.
- Ability to read drawings and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with machining, tooling, mold maintenance, or Tool & Die is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
