The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse. This includes shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Processing Shipments: Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices. Report any discrepancies or damages.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory in designated locations. Conduct regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to order specifications, customer requirements and company standards. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of order fulfillment.
- Shipping: Prepare and process shipping documents, labels, and other required paperwork. Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickups and deliveries. Assist in loading and unloading trucks while minimizing damage.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe. Perform routine maintenance on warehouse equipment and report any issues.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Warehouse Manager.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors/leads, and other departments.
- Quality Standards: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures. Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize warehouse processes.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- State motor vehicle operator’s permit for operation of forklift highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic computer skills for warehouse and inventory management and order processing.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or varying shifts as needed, especially during peak shipping periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
