Mayta Sebastian Architecture D.P.C.
York, NY Full Time
POSTED ON 4/8/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/3/2026

Mayta Sebastian Architecture D.P.C. is a technology-forward architecture and engineering firm specializing in building envelope consulting, forensic architecture, façade restoration, exterior rehabilitation, historic preservation, and selective design work. Our team works across residential, commercial, educational, and institutional project types, combining strong technical judgment with advanced tools including BIM, laser scanning, and field-based documentation workflows.

We are seeking a Project Manager I to support and lead active projects in restoration, inspection, and construction administration. This is a strong fit for someone who is technically solid, highly organized, and confident managing both field conditions and the follow-through that keeps projects moving.

The ideal candidate is technically solid, highly organized, and comfortable managing both field conditions and the documentation, communication, and follow-through needed to keep projects moving. They will be expected to communicate clearly, manage priorities across multiple active projects, and provide regular updates to clients, consultants, and internal team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple active projects with support from firm leadership and technical directors, while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Communicate with clients to help define project scope, budget, priorities, and overall expectations.
  • Lead site visits, building inspections, and field surveys to document existing conditions, collect data, evaluate construction progress, and assess work quality.
  • Prepare, develop, and coordinate complete construction documents, including drawings, sketches, specifications, and technical detailing for restoration, repair, rehabilitation, and alteration projects.
  • Support façade restoration, exterior rehabilitation, historic preservation, forensic investigation, interior alterations, FISP, parking structure, and related reporting and filing workflows.
  • Review contractor submittals and Requests for Information, and communicate design intent clearly through phone calls, email, sketches, clarifications, and addenda/CCD responses.
  • Manage construction administration activities including pre-bid meetings, progress meetings, site observation, punch lists, contractor coordination, and field issue resolution.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, action items, and open coordination items through closeout, proactively identifying risks and escalating issues early.
  • Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate technical assignments independently and in collaboration with small project teams.
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal BIM, operations, and technical team members.
  • Prepare clear written communication including site visit reports, bid comparisons, contractor follow-up, client updates, and other project correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking using firm systems such as Google Calendar, Trello, PlanGrid, and BQE.
  • Actively participate in a collaborative team environment and contribute to the overall success of the firm’s project delivery standards.

What success looks like in this role

  • You communicate clearly and professionally with clients, contractors, and teammates
  • You are able to balance field work with strong back-office follow-through
  • You document verbal decisions in writing and keep project tracking systems current
  • You understand sequencing and do not push actions forward without confirming prerequisites
  • You escalate schedule, budget, and coordination issues early rather than late
  • You can work independently while still knowing when to ask for support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 4 years of experience in NYC building envelope, restoration, façade, FISP, forensic, or construction administration work
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Experience with contractor coordination, submittals/RFIs, site documentation, and active CA projects
  • Strong comfort with fast-paced project tracking and follow-up
  • Familiarity with NYC codes, DOB-related coordination, and restoration workflows preferred
  • Bluebeam, Excel, Word, and project-management software proficiency required
  • Revit experience is a plus, but not required

Additional role expectations

  • This role includes a significant field component; a Project Manager can expect to be in the field approximately 25%–75% of a given week depending on project needs.
  • During onboarding, this role is expected to be primarily in-office and on site to support training and team integration.

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary range: $105,000–$125,000 annually, commensurate with experience, technical fit, and relevant NYC restoration / construction administration experience.
  • Health, dental, vision, life insurance
  • 401(k) matching
  • Performance-based bonus potential
  • Transportation support for project-related site visits
  • Hybrid flexibility after onboarding, based on role performance and project needs
