Project Manager I — Building Envelope & Restoration

NYC | Architecture & Engineering Consulting Firm | Hybrid Flexibility

A fast-growing, technology-driven architecture and engineering consulting firm is seeking a Project Manager I to join their collaborative team focused on building envelope restoration, façade rehabilitation, forensic investigations, and existing building work across New York City.

This firm combines strong technical expertise with forward-thinking tools like BIM, laser scanning, and field-based documentation, delivering high-quality work across residential, commercial, educational, and institutional buildings. The team is known for its collaborative culture, hands-on leadership, and technically challenging projects — making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of active restoration and rehabilitation projects while continuing to grow technically.

This role is ideal for a technically solid, organized Project Manager who enjoys balancing field work, client communication, and construction administration while leading projects from investigation through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple active restoration and façade projects with support from senior leadership
  • Lead site visits, façade inspections, and field surveys to document existing conditions and construction progress
  • Prepare and coordinate construction documents, technical details, and specifications for repair and rehabilitation work
  • Support façade restoration, exterior rehabilitation, historic preservation, FISP compliance, forensic investigations, and parking structure projects
  • Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings and communicate design intent
  • Lead construction administration including site observations, progress meetings, punch lists, and contractor coordination
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and action items through closeout
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal technical teams
  • Prepare site reports, client updates, and technical documentation

What Success Looks Like

  • Strong communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams
  • Ability to balance field work and project management responsibilities
  • Proactive risk identification and early issue escalation
  • Organized tracking of project timelines and deliverables
  • Independent project ownership with collaborative team engagement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 4 years of NYC experience in building envelope, restoration, façade, FISP, forensic, or construction administration work
  • Experience managing active construction administration projects
  • Familiarity with NYC codes and DOB coordination preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, Word, and project tracking tools
  • Revit experience is a plus, but not required

Role Details

  • Field-based role: Approximately 25%–75% field work depending on project needs
  • Hybrid flexibility available after onboarding
  • Primarily in-office and on-site during initial training period
