General Purpose of Position and Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities: Operate and maintain, motorized, mobile and stationary equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
General Job Duties
Grout Pump Operator: Lifting and handling 100 lb bags of material repetitively. Tends one or more machines that pump concrete, grout or dry mixtures of sand and cement through hoses to fill forms and crevices or to coat surfaces. Positions hose or temporary pipeline, and snaps couplings together in a safe operating manner. Shovels materials into hopper, moves lever to discharge materials from skip into hopper or signals concrete mixing truck driver to fill hopper with concrete. Moves controls to start and operate mixing and pumping equipment. Starts pump or compressor and turns valves to regulate flow of materials through hoses or pipe
Skid Loader Operator: Operates power-driven straight or articulated rubber-tired or track type machine, equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket to excavate or move dirt, rock, sand and other materials. Understands the use of and knows how to read grade markings, either from grade stakes or on ground surface, or hand signals. Pushes/pulls levers with hands and/or depresses pedals with feet to move machine, and to raise or lower and push bucket into stockpiled material, or to lower and dig bucket into surface of ground, and/or to lift and dump contents of bucket into truck or other vehicle or conveying device, hopper or stockpile. May use shovel to backfill trenches, holes or foundation walls. May be designated as to type of power unit operated. Position Requirements
- Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Three (3) years' experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Minimum Required Skills, Ability, Licensing, Certification, Training, etc.:
- Tools, Equipment, or Machines Required to Operate:
- Basic hand tools for maintenance or repairs on equipment.
- Excavators, Skid Loaders, Grout Pumps.
- Physical Requirements:
- General: walk, stand, sit, climb, us s hands and finger to handle or feel objects or tools, reach with hands and arms, talk, listen, hear, read, see, lift, bend, climb in/out of equipment.
- Lifting: 100 # requirement, sometimes numerous times per day.
- Exposure to Elements: Outside elements i.e. sun, wind, dust, rain, concrete, grouts, mud, snow, ice, cold, heat, high pressure hoses, solvent, grease, oil, paint, cleaning materials, noise.
- Handling of Dangerous Equipment: normal safety issues and guidelines of operating heavy equipment, pressurized concrete and hydraulic lines or hoses.
- Scheduled Work Hours: Typically, 6-7:00am to 3-4:00pm, ½ hours for lunch, two 10-minute breaks, unless otherwise specified. Hours may vary and out-of-town work will apply. Some Saturday and overtime work may be required.
