Maynard High School is seeking a talented and compassionate health educator to be a part of our instructional team. This candidate will bring a passion for supporting and implementing best instructional practices, a love for all students in grades 9-12, and a commitment to further promote an already existing positive collaborative teaching and learning environment.

A two day New Teacher Orientation will take place on August 24th and 25th.
The first day of school for teachers will be August 28th.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaches a high-quality and coherent health curriculum that is relevant to students and promotes their learning and growth. Teaches introductory courses in Health Professions Innovation Career Pathway
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of the Massachusetts Health Education Framework.
- Designs standards-based units of instruction and lesson plans with measurable outcomes and challenging tasks.
- Demonstrates instructional and classroom management practices that establish high expectations and create a safe and effective classroom environment.
- Adapts instruction, materials, and assessments to make challenging material accessible to all students, including English learners and students with disabilities.
- Participates in school-wide and subject-specific professional development and grade level team meetings.
- Demonstrates a culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice that includes a constructivist approach to teaching and learning.
- Utilizes informal and formal assessment methods to measure student learning and growth.
- Utilizes data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and identify students in need of targeted instruction/interventions.
- Motivates and engages students and promotes opportunities for students to generate understanding on their own through real world applications.
- Uses inclusive instructional practices to account for differences in students’ learning needs.
- Sets and upholds high standards for student work, effort, and behavior.
- Thorough knowledge of curriculum design, MA Common Core, and assessment tools
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study.
- MA DESE License with SEI Endorsement preferred. SEI Endorsement mandatory within the first year of employment.
- Successful experience teaching in a diverse school environment.
- Innovative team player with proven history of service.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
