Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating a variety of material handling equipment, including cranes, loaders, excavators, and trucks. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment maintenance, safety procedures, and occupational safety regulations to ensure efficient and safe project execution on construction sites. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to all safety standards to support our construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate a wide range of machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow all equipment safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating machinery.
- Handle materials efficiently using material handling equipment to support project timelines.
- Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times during operations.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in site preparation activities including material movement and site clean-up as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations to prevent accidents or injuries on the job site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes (including tower cranes).
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in commercial truck driving is desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, hand tools, and equipment repair is advantageous.
- Familiarity with occupational safety regulation compliance and equipment safety procedures is essential.
- Ability to operate machinery safely while following all safety regulations.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics systems and the operation of material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments requiring lifting up to 50 pounds or more and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards at all times.
