POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technicians primary responsibility is to ensure that equipment is safely operating and meets its intended use optimizing equipment up-time. The purpose of the Machine Maintenance employee is to make scheduled and unscheduled repairs on all machines and related equipment used in manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure preventative / predictive maintenance on equipment, machinery, tools and document PM through the Maintenance Manager.

· Review and inspect equipment daily for safe and proper operating conditions.

· Assist with major job repairs to machines, equipment or components when needed.

· Submit requests to Machine Maintenance Manager for proper approval and authorization for machine replacement parts, equipment or components.

· Follow all safety precautions on repairs to equipment, machinery and tools per MPI’s / OSHA requirements.

· Any other job deemed necessary by the Machine Maintenance Manager.

· Follows all safety, housekeeping, and company policies and procedures.

· Follows all environmental procedures concerning spills, containment and disposal of hazardous materials.

· Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner and performs other related duties and assignments as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

· BS in Electrical Engineering, Skilled trades or Equivalent in technical experience. Preferred but not required.

· Some college or technical education with courses in Hydraulic circuits, blueprint reading, components repairs and Electrical circuits. Preferred but not required.

· Minimum 3 years Operation of an injection molding machine.

· Minimum 3 years in skilled trade capacity working on Injection Molding machinery.

· Knowledge in the Set-up of plastic molding machinery.

· Strong knowledge with the principles of hydraulics, electricity and pneumatics.

· Ability to trouble shoot and repair circuits using schematics, blueprints and sketches.

· Ability to properly use equipment and tools to check and repair machinery.

This position requires that the employee be able to move and transport items that may exceed 50 pounds, without requiring assistance such as a dolly, forklift, or another team member. This position also includes frequent and prolonged periods of standing/walking, pushing /pulling or moving/lifting supplies. This position experiences frequent/occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motion and gripping. Must comply with all safety requirements including use of the personal protection equipment required for this position.
