Reimbursement Specialist
Location: Columbia, Maryland
Hourly Rate: $21.00 – $24.50 per hour $2,000 Annual Bonus Potential

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Reimbursement Specialist to serve as a liaison between office partners, patients, and payers. This role is essential for ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process and post revenue, making adjustments as needed
- Review office sales for proper documentation (e.g., nursing notes, timecards, authorizations)
- Generate and bill claims and invoices to various payer sources via multiple channels
- Research and follow up on unpaid accounts after expected payment timeframe
- Correct and resubmit claims or appeal determinations to ensure payment
- Follow quality processes to minimize write-offs and improve collections
- Provide excellent customer service to office partners, patients, and payers
- Keep Team Leader informed of problem accounts or potential cash flow impacts
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred
- Experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or collections preferred
- Quick and accurate alpha/numeric data entry skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and web-enabled applications
- Strong customer service skills and commitment to responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and professional image
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
