Role Overview
Maxim is seeking an individual to join the research team with a strong desire to be mentored by a long-standing senior sell-side equity research analyst. Our research division is a premier platform on Wall Street and we are committed to providing our clients with the best research for small-cap, mid-cap, and emerging growth companies.
The expected compensation for this role is: $70,000 - $90,000 a year.
Job Responsibilities
General responsibilities include company and investment analysis, updating analyst models (including building and balancing income, balance sheet, and cash flow statements), writing research notes/reports, and working closely with managements and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting
- Ability to be proactive and take the initiative when appropriate
- Very strong attention to detail
- Very strong analytical skills
- Strong professionalism and business acumen
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage an extensive list of priorities with little oversight
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to employ processes to ensure work is completed with minimal mistakes
- Strong motivation to learn and be mentored
Preferred
- MBA/CFA preferred
- Prior equity research experience preferred
- Proficient in financial modeling preferred
- Understanding and a passion for industrials, including electric vehicle and shipping companies preferred
