What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator - 3rd Shift position at maxcessinternational?
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Grinds rotary tooling to specification per work instructions. Sets blade clearance per specifications per
work instructions on both manual and CNC equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up indication and grinding of rotary tooling
- Double checks clearance on roll tag Compares order form to work instructions to ensure clearance
and proper roll is selected. - Informs department lead of all problems, crashes, or issues with the machine.
- Sweep and clean area around machine. Prioritize work according to leads instructions.
- Grind flats in roll when needed.
- Maintains grinding wheel.
- Maintain tooling supply.
- Wear proper PPE while in work areas of the shop.
- Able to measure bearer diameter with micrometer to determine taper as well as clearance.
- Other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to assimilate and retain quickly a variety of information concerning company organization,
policy and products. - Proficient skill level simple mathematics
- Know how to use micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work with supervision to realize company goals.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous machining experience and or trade school grad
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally
- Stands while working – 2 hours at a time
- Some overtime required
