Primary Responsibility:

Sets up and operates CNC Lathe – machines/inspects parts per drawing

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sets up machine – set up tooling – install/machine soft jaws as required
• Downloads program via computer.
• Make offsets to maintain part dimension tolerance. Responsible for ensuring each part is made within designated specifications.
• Inspects parts using precision measuring instruments – micrometers – calipers – depth micrometers bore gages – plug gages.
• Operates hoist / automatic band saw - Saw parts to required specification as required.
• Follows all Safety instructions and practices.
• Follows work instructions in place.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Good mechanical skills.
• Basic machine shop practices
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Basic math skills.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade School or pervious machine shop experience preferred

Physical requirements

• Able to lift 35 lbs. on occasion
• Stand for extended periods - 2 hour periods
• Some overtime required
