Boiler Technician

We are seeking an experienced Boiler Technician to join our mechanical services team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with high-pressure and low-pressure steam boilers and a strong background in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boiler systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair steam boiler systems (high-pressure and low-pressure).
  
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on boilers, burners, pumps, valves, controls, and related mechanical systems.
  
• Diagnose system malfunctions and recommend corrective actions.
  
• Conduct boiler startups, shutdowns, and combustion tuning.
  
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, including ASME and OSHA standards.
  
• Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately.
  
• Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other trades as needed.
  
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  
• Participate in emergency service calls and on-call rotations as required.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience working with steam boilers, including high-pressure and low-pressure systems.
• Strong knowledge of boiler safety systems, controls, and combustion principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Boiler Operator or Stationary Engineer License (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in commercial and/or industrial mechanical environments.
• Experience with hydronic systems, burners, and control systems.
• Welding or pipefitting experience a plus.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in mechanical rooms, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, kneel, climb ladders, and work on elevated surfaces.
