We are seeking an experienced Millwork Purchasing Manager to oversee material procurement for our custom architectural millwork projects. This role is critical to ensuring materials are sourced accurately, cost-effectively, and delivered on schedule to support production and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure lumber, sheet goods, hardware, finishes, and specialty materials for custom millwork projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Review shop drawings, cut lists, and specifications to ensure accurate purchasing
- Track material lead times and coordinate deliveries with project managers and shop supervisors
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and freight to control costs
- Resolve material discrepancies, shortages, and quality issues
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory controls
- Collaborate with estimating, project management, and production teams
Qualifications
- 3 years of purchasing experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking
- Strong knowledge of wood species, sheet goods, hardware, veneers, and finishes
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficiency with purchasing systems, spreadsheets
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a custom or high-end architectural millwork environment
- Familiarity with LEED or FSC-certified materials
- Background in construction, woodworking, or manufacturing
