Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Die Cut Operator role based in Sturgis, MI. The Die Cut Operator will set up, operate, and monitor die cutting equipment to produce high-quality packaging components according to job specifications and production schedules. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting job tickets, installing dies and tooling, adjusting machine settings, performing quality checks, and making necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and consistency. The role also involves routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting basic mechanical issues, and safely handling materials and finished products. The Die Cut Operator will work collaboratively with press, finishing, and quality teams to meet production goals, minimize waste, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience operating die cutting or similar converting/finishing equipment in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Ability to read and interpret production job tickets, specifications, and basic technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including basic troubleshooting, setup, and adjustment of machinery.
- Solid understanding of quality standards, with the ability to perform in-process inspections and use basic measuring tools.
- Commitment to safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and safe material handling practices.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow standardized work instructions.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends as production needs require.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in printing, packaging, or manufacturing is preferred.
