What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gluing Machine Operator position at Max Solutions, Inc.?
We are hiring an experienced Folder/Gluer Operators to join our team in Sturgis, Michigan. We hiring for both our 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Responsible for the performance of manual and machine tasks in the set up, maintenance, and operation of gluer/folder equipment to accurately produce product to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge and understanding of gluer/folder processes and equipment.
- Reads job tickets to determine setup specifications and instructions.
- Capable of performing machine make-ready on a multitude of various carton styles including but not limited to GSE, Auto Bottom, 4-corner, 6-corner, various trays and sleeves.
- Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed and be able to clear the production line and jams efficiently.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately.
- Perform routine adjustments during the gluer/folder run and maintains production throughout the run monitoring efficiency and quality of glued product.
- Perform all assigned work effectively and on schedule.
- Record daily production information using data collection.
- Responsible for setup and approval of case labels and all specific production paperwork associated with each job and client specification.
- Capable of training workers for various positions on the glue line.
- Ensure operation of gluer/folder and related equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements according to operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and established preventative maintenance schedules.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by comply with Company Safety rules, procedures and regulations.
- Experience with Leery Glue, Glue Detection and Barcode Scanning Systems a plus
Qualifications/Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have previous gluer/folder experience.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as job tickets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees and management.
- Must be able to maintain good attendance and be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability and stamina sufficient to maintain continuous physical effort throughout shift, including frequent lifting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching and twisting.
- Physical strength and ability sufficient to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.
- Manual labor is defined as exerting force sufficient to lift up to 50 lbs.
