What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Mawa's Kitchen?
McQueen Hospitality is looking for experienced and passionate Servers to join their Aspen-based team for two restaurant concepts.
Mawa's Kitchen is an MICHELIN Guide recommended restaurant known for its flavorful, organic dishes blending Middle Eastern and African roots with French-American flair. The restaurant is a cozy yet contemporary setting, catering to diverse tastes from casual brunch to upscale dinner.
Mawita is a new playful and warm tapas and wine bar serving up Spanish-Mediterranean style dishes with African flair. The restaurant serves après and dinner Tuesday through Sunday
All servers make tips in addition to their hourly wage.

Server Job Duties:
- Prepares room and patio (depending on season) for dining by setting tables.
- Learns menu, special ingredients, chef and restaurant background to properly assist customers in selecting food and beverages, explaining chef's specialties and answering food preparation questions.
- Increase check average by upselling when applicable.
- Connecting with customers to establish repeat diners.
- Transmits orders to bar and kitchen using Toast; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests on orders.
- Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
- Serves orders in a professional and timely manner by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
- Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process.
- Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
- Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting customers to return, cross-promotion other restaurants in the hospitality companies portfolio.
- Obtains revenue by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host person; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year previous restaurant server experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to upsell and promote menu items
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Familiarity with POS systems for order processing
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Working knowledge of OpenTable a plus
- Passion for hospitality and satisfaction in providing excellent customer service
