Our client, a manufacturer headquartered in Greater Birmingham AL, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for Continuous Improvement and implementation of 5S and supporting plan operations to ensure KPI’s are met.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct root-cause, solve challenges, determine manufacturing needs, and contribute to building high-quality products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering, exceptional attention to detail, and a can-do mindset.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive Continuous Improvement through planning and leading Kaizen events
- Development and Implementation of 5S program
- Determining manufacturing equipment needs
- Conducting root cause and corrective action for manufacturing non-conformance
- Support plant operations as necessary to ensure KPI’s are met
- Capital expenditure project development and implementation
- CNC equipment programming
- Write work instructions, standard work, and process flows
Requirements:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering.
- 3-5 years’ work experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Quality Engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD / CAM software and AutoCAD / SolidWorks.
- Experience in 5S implementation.
- Kaizen leadership experience.
- Fabrication and Assembly experience.
- Value Stream mapping experience.
- Mechanical Assembly experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a production environment.
- Ability to review blueprints and quality documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (Preferred).
- Lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to travel 10%.
