This is a fast-paced, high-impact role for someone with strong mechanical knowledge who enjoys problem-solving and working cross-functionally with operations and vendors, without being on the tools all day. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your schedule, travel throughout your region, and play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and overall business success.

This role is based in the Des Moines, IA area (Pleasant Hill location). You’ll work between the office, field locations, and have some flexibility for remote work depending on team needs.
Travel Expectations
This is a travel-heavy role (35–50%) supporting operations across Iowa, South Dakota (Sioux Falls), Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. Travel is primarily during the week, with most weekends at home. Expect to be on the road 1–2 weeks per month, partnering closely with drivers and operations teams across your region.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees regional fleet maintenance operations, ensuring equipment readiness and support for a 24/7/365 business environment.
- Plans and manages all preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, including inspections and repairs.
- Serves as the primary contact for equipment breakdowns, coordinating timely roadside assistance and issue resolution.
- Maintains DOT compliance by managing DVIR processes and ensuring all required tractor-trailer documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Builds and manages vendor relationships to secure cost-effective pricing for services, equipment, and repairs.
- Coordinates equipment lifecycle activities, including new equipment implementation, positioning, and retirement.
- Partners with operations and supervises terminal yards to ensure safety, organization, compliance, and alignment with company standards
- High School diploma (required), with advanced training and education (preferred)
- 5 Years experience in the transportation industry
- Class A CDL, tanker and hazmat endorsement (preferred, not required)
- 1–3 years recent experience in bulk fuel transportation (preferred, not required)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment issues
- Experience coordinating maintenance, repairs, or vendor services
- Comfortable using basic computer systems, email, and fleet management tools
