About the Role
As a Health, Safety, and Environmental Lead, you will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive safety and environmental strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and foster a proactive safety culture. You will act as a key partner to leadership, driving initiatives that mitigate operational risks, minimize environmental impact, and enhance overall workplace safety performance.
Responsibilities- Design and implement robust safety policies and environmental management systems to ensure full compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections to identify potential hazards and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead detailed incident investigations and root cause analysis to develop effective corrective and preventive action plans.
- Manage environmental programs, including air, water, and hazardous waste compliance, while championing sustainability efforts.
- Facilitate engaging EHS training programs and safety orientations to empower employees at all levels.
- Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies, managing all necessary reporting and documentation requirements.
- Analyze EHS performance data and KPIs to identify trends and support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5 years of progressive experience managing EHS programs within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Deep understanding of OSHA, EPA, and state-level environmental regulations.
- Proven ability to lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence safety culture across diverse teams.
Preferred Skills
- Professional certifications such as CSP, OHST, or CIH.
- Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in utilizing EHS management software for data tracking and reporting.
