Assistant Production Supervisor

About the Role:

The Assistant Production Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the production management team within a non-durable goods manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for assisting in overseeing daily production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. The role involves coordinating with various departments to optimize workflow, manage resources, and troubleshoot production issues promptly. The Assistant Production Supervisor contributes to maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while fostering a positive and productive work environment. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in non-durable goods production.
• Basic knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, and quality control standards.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a supervisory or team lead role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with manufacturing software systems such as ERP or MES.
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
• Ability to analyze production data and implement process improvements.
• Knowledge of California state manufacturing regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Production Supervisor in managing daily production activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality control, and supply chain teams to resolve production bottlenecks and material shortages.
• Train, mentor, and support production staff to enhance skills, productivity, and compliance with company policies.
• Maintain accurate production records, prepare reports, and communicate progress and issues to senior management.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste within the production process.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all production activities.
