Technical Retail Program manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Retail Program manager to lead and coordinate strategic technology and business initiatives . The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing retail technology programs, cross-functional teams, project delivery, and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced retail environment. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive program execution, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery of business and technology objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end program management for retail technology initiatives, ensuring delivery within defined timelines, scope, and budget.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering teams, and IT leadership to define program goals, priorities, and deliverables.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects involving retail platforms, ecommerce, digital transformation, and enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain program roadmaps, project plans, milestones, resource plans, and status reports.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, technology, operations, and external vendors.
- Identify and manage program risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests, driving timely resolution.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, executive reviews, steering committee discussions, and program governance activities.
- Track program performance using KPIs, delivery metrics, budgets, and resource utilization.
- Drive Agile program execution, sprint planning, backlog coordination, release planning, and delivery tracking where applicable.
- Manage vendor relationships, escalations, and delivery commitments to ensure alignment with business expectations.
- Support change management, testing coordination, deployment planning, and post-implementation reviews.
- Identify opportunities to improve program delivery processes, operational efficiency, and collaboration across teams.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in program management, project management, or technology delivery, preferably within the retail industry.
- Proven experience managing large-scale retail technology programs and complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong understanding of retail business processes, including merchandising, inventory management, order management, supply chain, stores, and ecommerce.
- Experience working with enterprise applications, digital commerce platforms, system integrations, and technology modernization initiatives.
- Proficiency in program planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, budget tracking, and executive reporting.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive accountability across multiple teams.
- Experience with program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting major retail brands, preferably in specialty retail, home furnishings, or ecommerce.
- Familiarity with omnichannel retail, POS systems, OMS, ERP, WMS, and digital commerce ecosystems.
- Experience managing vendor-led technology implementations and enterprise integrations.
- PMP, PgMP, CSM, or other relevant certifications.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and senior business stakeholders.
