What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at Mavagi Enterprises?
This Role Is Not For Everyone. It Might Be For You.
For over 25 years, Mavagi Enterprises has created meaningful employment for veterans and people with disabilities through federal contracts under the AbilityOne/JWOD Program. We are a mission-driven, people-first organization and we are looking for an HR Generalist who moves with urgency, takes ownership without being told twice, and genuinely cares about the humans behind the paperwork.
You follow up before you are asked. You notice what others miss and you don't walk past it. You can hold a real conversation with anyone, not because you are working the room, but because people genuinely feel heard when they talk to you. And you know how to close. You move things forward and you own your decisions.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time salaried position based on a 40-hour work week.
Our standard schedule is:
- Monday through Thursday, 9 hours per day
- Friday, half day
As a salaried professional, the expectation is that the work gets done. Some weeks that means 40 hours. Some weeks it means more. What we are looking for is someone who manages their time with enough ownership and urgency that deadlines are never the reason something didn't happen.
Half-day Fridays are a benefit we protect, and the way we protect them is by making sure Monday through Thursday count.
Benefits
At Mavagi Enterprises we believe that people who do meaningful work deserve to be taken care of. Here is what we offer:
Health and Wellness
- Medical insurance
- Dental and vision coverage
- Company-paid life insurance
Time Away
- Paid time off and vacation
- Paid sick leave
- Federal holidays plus additional days including Good Friday and Battle of Flowers, because we believe rest is part of performance
- Parental leave
Growth and Development
- Professional development and training opportunities tailored to your role and career path
- Year-round team builders and employee events designed to strengthen the team, not just check a box
Something Worth Noting
This is mission-driven work inside a growing organization. The people who thrive here are not just looking for a benefits package. They are looking for work that means something, a team that holds itself accountable, and a place where showing up fully is both expected and recognized.
Every piece of HR work you do here supports employment for people with disabilities. That is not a tagline. It is in our contracts and our culture.
