What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Administrator position at Mauser Packaging Solutions?
(This role will be for 45-90 days)
The Benefits Specialist functions as second tier support to our HR teams to resolve employee issues in areas the benefits administration team cannot provide or otherwise resolve, some compensation responsibilities. This role will also serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators to administer US, Canada, and Puerto Rico benefits programs.
This person will report to the Director of Total Rewards.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Benefits Administration: Resolve second-level employee benefits issues through the HR team.
- Develop and implement communication programs for employees on benefits.
- Assist with facilitating global projects, including the wellness program, annual benefit notice mailings, benefits renewal process, compliance testing, and Open Enrollment.
- Support corporate wellness program by coordinating wellness activities, assisting in developing employee communications, and administering the annual biometric screening program & wellness incentive funding.
- Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators to administer programs with an emphasis on plan rules, compliance, administration, and reporting.
- Oversee employee benefit changes & administration, benefit files, COBRA administration, FMLA/Short-term disability claims, and monthly premium billings.
- Participate in the completion of plan audit and required filings, including 5500s, SARs, government reporting, and Summary Plan Descriptions.
- Administration of Retirement Plans
Requirements:
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4-6 years of professional experience in Human Resources with a strong emphasis on Benefits and some Compensation experience.
- Strong HRIS experience, with Oracle experience preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws related to compensation and benefits administration.
- Understanding of employee relations and employment laws required.
- Ability to provide internal consulting to Management.
- Ability to weigh the need for confidentiality and the need to know as it relates to information communication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be well organized and confident to work independently while being a strong team player.
- Ability to effectively plan and set changing priorities. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.
- A commitment to continuing education on laws and industry trends related to compensation and benefit plans.
- Microsoft Office expertise – specifically strong Excel reporting and data analysis skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy is essential.
- Bilingual is preferred but not required.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
