What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Educator 2 position at Maury County Government?
Health Educator works with the local health council, community organizations, schools, senior citizens centers and other agencies to promote healthy behaviors particularly in the areas of tobacco prevention, obesity, physical inactivity, substance misuse and other areas that impact the overall health of the community. Health Educator can work as part of a team or independently with both communities and individuals. They are a crucial part of health promotion and program planning and are often the voice of public health.

- Facilitating Health Council meetings
- Educating youth & adults in schools & community setting
- Initiating community activities
- Develop/maintain partnerships with community agencies/groups
- Program development, implementation & evaluation
- Working with County Director to communicate information to local media and community partners
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education or Related Field
Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
Computer Skills (especially Microsoft Office programs)
