The Maui Family YMCA is hiring a Group Leader for our A After School Program at Pomaika‘i Elementary
We’re looking for someone who is dependable, confident, and great with kids. This role is a strong fit for someone who can lead a group, create structure, keep students engaged, and be a positive presence after school each day.
Group Leaders are responsible for helping create a safe, fun, and well-run program where youth can learn, play, and build positive relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a group of elementary-aged students
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment
- Support games, activities, homework time, and daily routines
- Use strong judgment and positive behavior management
- Communicate well with staff, families, and school personnel
- Assist with attendance, setup, cleanup, and program flow
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Reliable, professional, and able to take initiative
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable leading a group and setting clear expectations
- Must be able to pass required background checks
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday after school, with earlier hours on Wednesdays. Additional hours may be available during school breaks and camp programs.
