What are the responsibilities and job description for the Used Vehicle Technician position at MAUER AUTOMOTIVE?
As a Used Vehicle Technician, you are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning used inventory vehicles, trade-in vehicles, and dealership-owned internal vehicles to ensure they meet dealership quality and safety standards.
Job Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Perform inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on used vehicle inventory, trade-in vehicles, and dealership-owned internal vehicles.
- Complete used vehicle reconditioning work in accordance with dealership standards and timelines.
- Perform comprehensive used vehicle inspections and document all findings.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, and safety-related concerns and perform repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct trade-in evaluations and identify mechanical deficiencies requiring repair or disclosure.
- Determine reconditioning requirements needed to prepare vehicles for retail sale.
- Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain required parts and materials.
- Document all work performed, including inspection results and repair recommendations.
- Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify repair quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service bays, shop equipment, and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, dealership policies, and safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous automotive technician experience preferred.
- Experience performing used vehicle inspections and reconditioning repairs preferred.
- Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
