OBJECTIVES
- Daily walk thru of warehouse to ensure that current best practices are being followed
- Review Safety Standards/ Procedures and create a plan that better fits our needs to ensure our safety protocols are aligned with OSHA standards
- Create and implement “0” accident culture
- Conduct weekly meetings to review safety topics of importance with warehouse
- Schedule monthly Safety meeting with Juan (safety consultant)
- Create and continuously improve SOPs for warehouse personnel that will enable the team to become more efficient and enhance service quality.
- Ensure warehouse personnel are complying with daily inspection and maintenance of forklifts and power tools
- Ensure repairs of forklifts are scheduled, reviewed, and approved in a timely manner. Keep a log per forklift to track repairs and cost.
- Develop and implement new quality control processes to reduce claims.
- Implement metrics for warehouse personnel regarding loading processes, timeliness, and daily quotas per team
- Daily inspection of containers to reduce in house claims
- Daily walk thru of yard to ensure reduction of in house claims
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and quality-related data/ incidents
- Identify and report defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
- Oversee warehouse productivity to reduce OT, claims and material waste
- Execute and streamline order process of materials and supplies needed
- Oversee and develop warehouse vendor relationships to reduce costs
- Hire, train and develop warehouse team members
- Upload, review and ensure quality of pictures for containers being loaded
- Ensure quality vehicle reception pictures meet standards and address if need be
- Review and address claims with teams at destination along with warehouse personnel within 72 hours
- Review and continuously improve the process for the receiving and unloading of vehicles in the yard.
COMPETENCIES:
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations.
- Ability to develop and implement safety plans and a "zero-accident" culture.
- Proficiency in conducting safety audits and improving procedures.
- Strong leadership skills to guide warehouse personnel and enforce protocols.
- Ability to conduct effective meetings and training sessions on safety and efficiency.Knowledge of quality assurance processes and metrics implementation.
- Experience in overseeing warehouse operations, including inspections, inventory, and maintenance.
- Ability to track, analyze, and report data on inspections, repairs, and operational metrics.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address defects, claims, and inefficiencies proactively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with teams, vendors, and consultants.
- Ability to maintain vendor relationships to reduce costs and ensure quality service.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and logs for equipment, incidents, and processes.
- Must be bilingual in English & Spanish
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, Occupational Safety or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in implementing and managing OSHA-compliant safety protocols in a warehouse or industrial environment.
- Proven experience (5 years) in managing warehouse operations, including logistics, inventory control, and team supervision.
- Experience in creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and service quality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
- Proficiency in using laptops and communication tools for remote and in-office tasks.
- Perform work with OSHA required PPE; Including COVID19 PPE
